Jessica Hunter

Hi, I’m Ms. Hunter! I’m so excited to be part of the Northside High School Panther family, where I teach English II. I’m a proud graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor’s degree in English, and I’m certified to teach English for grades 6–12. I began my teaching career at P.S. Jones Middle School, and I’ve loved every step of my journey helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers.

One of the highlights of my career so far was being chosen for the 2025 North Carolina Teachers Poland Trip through NCCHE and NCCAT. I traveled with 45 amazing educators from across the state, exploring Poland’s history, culture, and literature—an experience that I’m excited to bring back into our classroom discussions, especially as we explore literature connected to history and the human experience, including Night by Elie Wiesel.

When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me at home cooking, listening to music, reading, writing, going to the theater, or spending time with my two incredible sons. When summertime arrives, though, I love traveling and making memories with my family.
