Jessica Hunter

Hi, I’m Ms. Hunter! I’m so excited to be part of the Northside High School Panther family, where I teach English I and English II. I’m a proud graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor’s degree in English, and I’m certified to teach English for grades 6–12. I started my teaching career at P.S. Jones Middle School, and I’ve loved every step of my journey helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers.

One of the highlights of my career so far was being chosen for the 2025 North Carolina Teachers Poland Trip through NCCHE and NCCAT. I traveled with 45 amazing educators from across the state, exploring Poland’s history, culture, and literature—an experience that I’m excited to bring back into our classroom discussions.

When I’m not teaching, you can usually find me cooking, listening to music, reading, writing, going to the theater, or spending time with my two incredible sons.
